“Keith Haring: The Political Line,” opens at the de Young Museum, S.F. Nov. 8

The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco presents ““Keith Haring: The Political Line,” at the de Young Museum. Opening Nov. 8 and running through Feb. 16, 2015, the exhibition evaluates the political breadth of Haring's work and his devotion to using art as a communication tool for social justice and change.

Including works on loan from The Keith Haring Foundation, private and public collections, some of which have not been viewed by the public or published since Haring died in 1990, they include Untitled, (1982), a vinyl paint on vinyl tarpaulin work.

Guest curator Dieter Buchhart worked with Julian Cox, founding curator of photography and chief administrative curator at the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco on the show. Buchhart presented an exhibition of the same name in the summer of 2013 at the Musée d’art moderne de la Ville de Paris.
